Behind every statistic is a classroom, a headteacher, and students who no longer lose their morning to a water source.

St. Andrew's Primary, Luwero — A Closer Look

Before, students at St. Andrew's Primary in Luwero walked up to 4km for water — and every dry season, attendance dropped as the walk got longer and less reliable. In 2022, Save the Rain installed a 30,000-litre rainwater harvesting system at the school. Since then, attendance has risen 40%.

"For the first time, our girls don't miss class to fetch water. The rain now belongs to our children." — Josephine Akello, Headteacher, St. Andrew's Primary, Luwero
